No buddy like a real Dad. Mr. Theo’s four-year-old daughter was eating when he arrived home from a three-day trip. She heard her dad’s voice at the door, left the dining table, and with hands smeared with food, she jumped up to hug her dad. He neither turned away nor asked her to wash her hands first, instead he embraced her in return.

We read about a boy in Luke chapter 15 who thought it was a better idea to return to his father instead of dining with pigs. One would have expected the father to reject the son who wasted his funds, but the father ran to meet and embrace him. Regardless of what the son had done, the father did not complain or reprimand him. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him” [Luke 15:20].

A sister testified about how God delivered her from prostitution. She also added how the grace of God had sustained her since she accepted Christ into her life. Few months later, the pastor’s son proposed to her in marriage. The marriage committee including the boy’s mother rejected the idea, but the boy insisted on the union. Quoted, the boy said, “My fiancé’s past is not what is on trial here. What you are questioning is the ability of the blood of Jesus to wash away sin. Today you have put the blood of Jesus on trial. So, does it wash away sin or not?”

The $100 bill doesn’t lose its value. It may have traveled to brothels back and forth. It may have been exchanged in criminal dealings. It may have been to church or the white house occasionally. It may even have been roughened or mishandled. Clean or dirty, the hundred-dollar bill is ever desirable!

It doesn’t matter where you’ve been, what you’ve done or what has been done to you. You are still desirable to God. Peter came as a fisherman. Jesus made a fisher of men out of him. Rahab was known to be good at keeping men. If you come, like Rahab, God might turn you to a guardian of the vulnerable ones.
Just come as you are!

Isaiah 1:18 – “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”
